PRE-RECORDED MEDIA-CD / DVD REPLICATION

Introduction DVD initially stand for " Digital Video Disc", this all-embracing format has been renamed "Digital versatile Disc" to stress its wider range of usefulness. Already specifications has been agreed for five versions, DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-Audio. DVD manages to store at least seven times more data than a standard 650MB CD by reducing the size of the recorded pits (using a highter frequency laser source) and packing the tracks closer together. The double-side disc have two recorded sides back-to back. Priority in DVD development was given to DVD-Video with its potential for high quallity pictures, surround sound, widescreen and interactivity, with considerable amounts of data compression to accommodate full-length movies (133 Minutes) on a single-sides disc and then DVD-ROM for computer applications. However, a storng lobby led by the Acoustic Renaissance for Audio and others, pressed for a no-limits DVD-Audio option having up to eight channels for surround sound, and a between sampling frequencies of 44.1, 48,88.2,96,176.4 or 192KHz, 16,20, or 24 bit resolution.
